EU Green Mission
EU-Green is part of the European Union’s efforts to tackle climate change, protect the environment, and build sustainable, resilient societies. It aligns closely with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – a global framework of 17 goals that address urgent challenges such as climate action, clean energy, quality education, sustainable cities, responsible consumption, and the protection of biodiversity.

The OVGU is one of nine European universities that individually as well as together stand up for a sustainable future. Each partner institution specializes in specific sustainability-related topics, making EU GREEN a driving force for innovation. The alliance offers a unique opportunity to share and expand research, teaching, innovation, and sustainability initiatives beyond local boundaries, contributing to the European and global agenda. Together, they work across nine thematic areas – so called Work Packages - each led by one partner institution with dedicated expertise. The OVGU heads the area of Communication, Dissemination, and Impact.
By combining the SDG vision with practical, step-by-step work through assigned Working Packages, the EU Green Mission turns high-level sustainability ambitions into concrete actions with real-world impact. Throughout the topics, activities and outcomes of the Summer School the following SDGs will be addressed:
