Workshop 4: Embodiment
Teaching Staff: Katharina Alf
Katharina Alf is a Berlin-based embodiment coach and somatic therapist. Through her work, she guides individuals and groups in transformative processes. How can we release old, limiting patterns and open up to new possibilities—both physically and mentally? How can we unfold the potential that resides within us? These are the questions she continually explores. She brings a deeply personal and transformative approach to her work, rooted in her own journey of recovery after leaving a career in acting due to a spinal injury. That experience opened her eyes to the profound intelligence and communicative power of the body—she learned to listen more deeply and now teaches others to do the same. Katharina hosts the Life: Embodied podcast, a space where she and expert guests explore how embodiment practices can support us in meeting the challenges of modern life. Her ethos is grounded in presence, clarity, and gentleness, offering an experience that is both healing and empowering. Her certifications include Transformative Bodywork, the Pantarei Approach, Fluentbody Facilitator and CEC (Certified Embodiment Coach) through Embodiment Unlimited. Since 2022, Katharina has also been recognized as a Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie (licensed practitioner of psychotherapy under German law). www.katharinaalf.de
Workshop Description
Embodiment
Most of us spend our days rushing from one thing to the next—studying, working, meeting deadlines—without really noticing how we’re doing inside. This workshop invites you to explore embodiment: the practice of experiencing the body not as something we “have,” but as who we are. Together, we’ll explore how small shifts in posture, breath, or movement can change how you feel and how you respond to challenges. You’ll practice noticing unconscious habits, loosening inner blockages, and discovering new ways of acting. It’s about learning self-regulation—finding tools that help you feel more balanced, focused, and at ease in everyday life. At the same time, embodiment is about sustainability. When you learn to listen to your body, you start treating your energy and attention as valuable resources. Instead of running on empty, you build habits that keep you grounded and resilient over the long run. This kind of self-care isn’t selfish—it’s the foundation for showing up in the world with clarity and strength. The workshop offers a space to explore your potential in a simple, practical way. No performance, no pressure—just the chance to get to know yourself better, and to find a more sustainable way of living and learning. By connecting mind and body, you also connect more fully with others and with the world around you.
